| Richard P Steeds Consultant Cardiologist , Queen Elizabeth Hospital, University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, Birmingham, UK Richard P Steeds is a Consultant Cardiologist at University Hospital (Queen Elizabeth) in Birmingham, specialising in cardiovascular imaging and in the management of valvular heart disease. He is the current President of the British Society of Echocardiography and a Lead Cardiologist in echocardiography and CMR. He is an Honorary Reader at the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences, University of Birmingham, and has published more than 200 peer-reviewed research articles. His current research interests are in the role of CMR in the management of asymptomatic severe mitral regurgitation and in the prediction of cardiovascular complications from chronic kidney disease. He has an active interest in the management of cardiovascular aspects of rare diseases, including Alstrom syndrome. |
